ABOUT US

Adrianne Brewer

I am  a counsellor psychotherapist with a BSc in Psychology and a Post-grad diploma in Counselling Psychology. I am an  accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and a graduate member of the British Psychological Society.  I have a private practice in west London and have been practicing for nearly 20 years.

I provide a space that is safe, confidential and non-judgmental to help explore issues and and find a way to reflect. Within this space, we can find resilience and clarity. In my work I consider "how can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?" Carl Rogers

Therapy is not just about finding solutions to problems but an indispensable place for personal growth.

I was born in Toronto, Canada and lived briefly in the USA before coming to the UK in 1989. I  went to  university in Canada and the US and started my psychology education in London, after an earlier career in advertising and marketing. I took up rowing on the Thames about 8 years ago which is where I met Jack. He was one of my coaches at Tideway Scullers School and I try to get on the river as often as possible.

I’ve spent most of my working life of 20 years as a rowing coach and in that time I have coached to an elite and international level. Coaching at Tideways Scullers was where I met Adrianne and from there we decided to join forces and try to better the mental health of others.

I’ve nurtured athletes from being beginners and taking them right through to international level competitions. Having seen people I’ve coached and developed go on to compete at World Championships and Olympics.

The human mind has been a fascination of mine all my life and how it can be developed and used to help unlock people’s abilities. I found my strengths in coaching revolved around psychology and building athletes mental strengths to achieve incredible things.

The passion I’ve had for working closely with individuals and also teams has given me great experience and knowledge to help others in many fields of work. I’ve now used my passion and knowledge of the mind by studying and qualifying to instruct and help others in mental health awareness and mental health first aid.
